Taking action delivers success – It’s all about what you want
The path to success is to take massive, determined action – Tony Robbins
Taking action delivers success. This is something that I want to get across to you right away. When we first decide to make positive changes in our lives, we usually underestimate the amount of effort it will take.
It’s easy to dream and imagine a better life, but we also need to pay attention to our thoughts and take decisive action. And that’s where most of us get stuck.
Imagine that you wanted to fix a car, and think about the process that needs to be put into place. You’d need to conceive the idea, purchase the desired car, draw up plans, order materials, hire professionals to do the tasks you can’t, and finally, begin building your dream car.
If you got as far as purchasing the materials and then sat there waiting for them to magically form themselves into a car, you’d be waiting a long time!
We need to use the same process to “build” the lives we want, the dreams we desire. We need to be clear on what we want (conceive the idea), draw up plans (set goals), and then take action to form our desires in the physical.
What most of us do, however, is say we want to change, but then act in ways that contradict that desire. There can be many reasons for this, such as the lure of old habits, fear, or low self-confidence. Until we resolve the underlying issues, we will keep sabotaging our efforts to change.
Figure out what is holding you back
If this describes you, and you’ve been struggling to make positive changes in your life and you just can’t seem to do it, here is a plan of action to help you break through any walls that may be holding you back:
If you take some time to explore these feelings, you will be able to work through any limiting beliefs or fears. In fact, don’t be surprised if you discover something about yourself that you never knew existed. What most people end up finding is they are much stronger than they thought.
You can explore your feelings by either writing them out or speaking them aloud. However, I always like to write things down, even if I speak them allowed so they are always in front of me. You might start off with a prompt such as, “I feel afraid of . . .” or “I feel safe with my life the way it is because . . .”
Allow your answers to come freely, and work on changing any thoughts or beliefs that will continue to hold you back.
Think about the outcome, and then decide exactly which actions will bring you closer to it. Write them down and review them several times a day to be sure you are on the right track. Also, remember that taking action delivers success.
Do this when the cravings arise until you no longer desire to smoke. If you decide to exercise every day, you will need to make that decision again each day, day after day, week after week – even if you don’t feel like exercising initially.
The same process applies to any changes you are trying to make in your life. Every single moment, you will need to choose the actions that will result in what you are trying to create. In order to do this, you may need to develop a deeper level of awareness about your own actions, especially if you find yourself automatically gravitating toward unproductive actions.
Take action! An inch of movement will bring you closer to your goals than a mile of intention – Steve Maraboli.
Now that you have figured out what the issues are and you now have a plan of action, do not falter. This is the exact moment where most people fall, just short of their goal.
They will stop right here and fail to accomplish what they already figured out. Little thoughts of doubt and fear of failure will enter their minds, stopping them right in their tracks.

This is not the time for procrastinating. Now is the time for taking action on what you have written down. This is remembering, the whole reason you are here.
So start with the first thing and move on from there. When Taking more action to accomplishing what you want, you will see it get’s easier as you go. This is because the more you do something, you start to get accustomed to it.
Now that you have started to take action, do not slow down. This is key to really making things happen for yourself.
As you go, go harder and harder, taking more and more action until you have hit your goal. I guarantee you the feeling you get from completing your tasks will far outweigh the fear of taking action. Just get started.
A dream becomes a goal when action is taken toward its achievement – Bo Bennett[/su_quote]
Remember that improvement is a process, and it takes consistent effort and much focus. The good news is that once we begin the process, it gets easier every time we choose the right actions. Moment to moment, we do have the power to choose. If we take our time and enjoy the journey, we can’t fail.
If you would like additional help with this, I have created a series of books called “Developing A New Mindset”. This series covers all issues ranging from taking action to believing in yourself. It also comes with some “Bonus” material that I know will help you achieve whatever it is you want to.
I believe in you – It is time for you to believe in you too.
